Motorcycles were introduced to the military in the early 1900’s. With bullets flying from any direction you would think a motorcycle would be a poor choice for battle, with no armor leaving the operator totally exposed. However, there were times speed and agility were just what was needed, when it came time to relaying a critical order, getting ammo to troops or scouting ahead of advancing units. The motorcycle was irreplaceable on the battlefield. Today bikers of all clubs and groups come together on Memorial Day and fly just 3 colors, Red, White and Blue to honor our brave heroes who lost their lives. We remember their achievements, their courage and their dedication and say thank you for their sacrifices. Millions of Americans have fought and died on battlefields. Many of them didn’t ask to leave their homes, many didn’t even volunteer, they were called upon to be part of something bigger than themselves. They didn’t go to war because they loved fighting. They were ordinary people who responded in extraordinary ways in extreme times. They left behind wives, husbands, children and parents. Ultimately sacrificing themselves. Some are still today considered missing.  They rose to the nation’s call because they wanted to protect a nation which has given them, us, so much. Millions of Americans fought and died on battlefields to defend our freedom. Let us always remember the ultimate sacrifice our millions of men and women have given to protect our freedom and our way of life. Let us remember all  of them when we are riding, from sea to shining sea, from purple mountains and fruited plains and who more than self, their country loved and the mercy more than life… god bless you and god bless the united states of America   Ride safe Ride free appreciates you, honors you and thanks you!
