Our roads are treacherous, filled with potholes, people on their phones not paying attention, construction everywhere, there is a lot for bikers to watch out for in order to stay safe. These are things beyond our control and we must stay alert, but there are things we can do to help us stay safe. Riding season has already started but did you really prepare? Here is a checklist of things to do before you head out:
- Check your lights/blinkers.
- Check your brakes.
- Check all your fluids.
- Check your tires – skin/air pressure.
- Make sure your kickstand is tight.
- Make sure all your bolts are tight.
- Is your helmet DOT approved?
- Do you have the proper eyewear?
It is important to go over your entire bike before heading out. While riding, be aware of your surroundings, drive defensively when you need to but don’t be a dare devil. Report those potholes on our App RoadCaptain.com . Stop and tell that person that’s putting grass clippings on the roads that it’s dangerous (they might not know how dangerous it is for motorcycles). Every week we hear someone somewhere went down on their bike for whatever reason IT MUST STOP . Lookout for each other, respect the road and always remember mileage is knowledge .. #RideSafeRideFree
